Scorpio Bad Traits
Scorpios – they can be difficult to love and even harder to hate. The eighth sign of the zodiac is known as one of the most charming and mysterious ones, but I’d be lying if I said that Scorpio’s bad traits didn’t exist. Truth is, this sign can be a little chaotic and hard to deal with at times.
If you’d like to get to know your Scorpio friend or partner better, I highly suggest checking out Scorpio Secrets. It will help you not only recognize bad Scorpio traits but also understand where they’re coming from and how to address them. But before I delve deeper into that, let’s take a look at a Scorpio’s positive personality traits that we all know and love.
Positive Scorpio Personality Traits
The list of good Scorpio traits can be pretty long, but the most important ones include:
- Passion. When a Scorpio loves something or someone, they do it with all their heart, be it a new love interest, a hobby they just took up, or furthering their career.
- Independence. Scorpios love being around people, but they don’t depend on them. They can take care of themselves, and socializing is more of a want than a need.
- Loyalty. This is one of the most faithful signs of the zodiac, both in friendships and romantic relationships. They fully devote themselves to the people they care about.
- Honesty. If you really want to know how that new T-shirt looks on you, ask a Scorpio. They are unapologetically honest and don’t refrain from speaking up.
- Problem-solving. When this sign encounters a problem, their first instinct is to analyze the situation and look for solutions. This also makes them great at giving advice.
Scorpio Negative Traits
So what are the negative personality traits of a Scorpio? In fact, they are all very closely connected to the positive ones – the problem is that Scorpios sometimes have a tendency to take things a bit too far. So let’s take a look at what happens when this sign becomes a little too dedicated, passionate, and honest.
1. They Sometimes Can’t Control Their Emotions
If you asked me to describe this zodiac sign using one word, it would have to be – extreme. A Scorpio in love will adore their partner, but a Scorpio who dislikes someone basically hates them. If a Scorpio woman is jealous, she will become possessive, and the same goes for men. This can take quite a toll on the relationships this sign has in their life, be it with family, friends, romantic partners, or coworkers.
2. Scorpios Hold Grudges
Whether they like it or not, Scorpios are very emotional beings. They have a strictly determined set of morals and values, so when someone wrongs them, they can feel very betrayed. Unfortunately, some Scorpios aren’t good at letting go of this feeling, and they end up holding a grudge for a long time – even if they have received a heartfelt apology. In fact, it is not uncommon for a Scorpio to cut ties with people who have hurt them.
3. This Is a Stubborn Sign
Because a Scorpio tends to dedicate a lot of time and energy to what they care about, they can lose track of, well, everything else. Nothing else is nearly as important as what they happen to be focused on, so it can be hard (read: impossible) to get them to see the bigger picture.
Let me give you an example: if a Scorpio decides to bake a cake that requires a very rare ingredient, they would rather spend hours hunting down that one ingredient than using a replacement, simply because they’ve decided there is only one right way to bake that cake.
4. The World Is Black and White to Them
Because this sign tends to take things to the extreme, it can be difficult for them to see all the gray areas. For example, a Scorpio man in love will put his partner on a pedestal, but as soon as he feels he’s been wronged, he will never want to see that partner again. Scorpios struggle to understand that people make mistakes and that one wrong move doesn’t make someone a bad person.
5. They Like to Criticize…
Due to their unrestrained honesty, Scorpios can often hurt other people’s feelings without wanting to do so. They sometimes struggle to understand that just because something is true, doesn’t mean it has to be said out loud.
Bonus tip: If you’re a Scorpio man or woman who struggles with this, there is a simple way to teach yourself to filter your thoughts. Socrates’ Triple Filter Test says that, before saying something, you should ask yourself:
- Is it true?
- Is it good?
- Is it useful?
Only if the answer to all of these three questions is Yes, you should proceed to say what you wanted.
… But Hate Being Criticized
As much as they like criticizing others, you’d think that Scorpios can take some criticism themselves, too. That isn’t exactly the truth. People born under this sign usually know what they’re doing (or at the very least, think they do), so they take criticism personally. If you tell a Scorpio that you don’t agree with something they’re doing, in their eyes, you are not only criticizing their actions but also attacking their core values.
Addressing Scorpio’s Negative Personality Traits
Do you have a Scorpio in your life whose negative personality traits are starting to put a strain on your relationship? Don’t worry, not all is lost! The first step is recognizing what the problem is, and the second one is learning how to deal with it. Scorpio Secrets can help with that! Using it has tremendously improved the relationships in my life, and it can do the same for you and your beloved Scorpio. Knowing exactly why they act the way they do and understanding how to address these issues without creating a bigger problem is the right way to deepen your relationship with a Scorpio boyfriend, girlfriend, or friend.
